I came to metal work as a sculptor. At one point I built a personal bronze casting foundry with a former, fellow student. Molten metal, in whatever form is primordially magical, the same with fire. The control of both is age old signifying cultural progress. I guess this basicness is why I am attracted to welding or simple forging with a torch. In addtion, metal objects have a beauty that no other material can reproduce. Sculpture
